if you see the "metar" reports of santacruz airport it only shows drizzle albeit with CB's present!!
raining very heavily since 8:45pm...lightning starts from 9:30 with thunder...today...in deonar
Thanks for the feedback.
There was hardly any rains at Juhu yesterday, just a strong drizzle around 10:00 pm lasting only about 15 minutes. So a bit surprising to read about heavy bursts of rain in South Mumbai and Deonar areas.
One thing that I noticed yesterday when looking at the Cloud top temperatures image yesterday late evening was that cloud tops around Marathwada were -60 degrees. I found that quite intense at this time of the year. Today morning I read about 4 Lightning related deaths around the Nashik area as printed in TOI
Juhu had a strong drizzle as mentioned by you, and S'cruz gets 1 mm, and certain areasin the NW suburbs get no rain. Colaba received 57 mms while at breach candy we measured 31 mms.
This is exactly what was tried to explain in Vagaries in forecasting in this off season rains for mumbai. Spot forecasting is very difficult. Mentioned in a foot note on mumbai page a few days ago.
