BB2 is today (Thursday) situated on the Vid/M.P. border as low. Refusing to weaken, and pushed by an active off shore west coast trough, it is precipitating rainfall along Konkan, N.Mah. and adjoining M.P./Gujarat regions. Check the QPE map link provided for previous 3 hrs latest precipitation.
Monsoon axis has shifted southwards, and runs thru Rajasthan, M.P, low pressure and into the Bay.
Thursday precipitation around BB2, with heavier falls in N.Mah and Eastern Gujarat. Penetration of rainfall into Saurashtra will be seen, but, as stated earlier, not very widespread nor heavy. do not see rain from BB2 going any further (westwards).
MJO in the seas around the sub-continent is getting active. New low is expected in the Bay around the 11th.
Mumbai had frequent showers on Wednesday, 22 mms at S'Cruz and 18 mm at Colaba (estemated 25-30 mms). Thursday we will go as per our estimate. Frequent heavy showers with 30-35 mms.
