The Synoptic Situation as on Friday Evening shown on Super Imposed on IMD Satellite Image (below) for easy reference. The trough shown is an Upper Air Trough.

Follow up with last blog...(The UAC off the west coast forecasted by (only)Vagaries has been announced by IMD today-:)).

Now, everything on schedule. I expect the SWM to slide down Maharashtra by Monday, and get stuck over Karnataka.

@ So whether Monsoon withdrawing from Mumbai - Pune region by 1st October then ! And whether withdrawal will be in silent & dry ! And suppose if any rain event occurs from 2nd Oct to 5 Oct period then which rains should be it named Non- Monsoonal or Post(after) Monsoonal ! As Saurashtra & Kutch also had received some isolated rains even after SWM withdrawal..

abhijit:Bhuj 76 mms ) and Anjar 43 mms and Kandla 40 mms in Kutch district received heavy thundershowers on the evening of 27th. Rains commenced at 5.30 pm. Firsthand reports mention of sky getting cloudy from previous night. But 27th, a thunderstorm formed over Bhuj, and by 11 pm 76 mms were recorded.
All this on the day the SW Monsoon was withdrawn by Vagaries. North Gujarat withdrawal was announced in the 27th article.
A hint of some upcoming rain was mentioned on 26th.

Rajesh sir, Myself waiting for Bangalore rains to happen!!!! As of now nothing- 5mm - as u say tommorow is the day

By the today is LATA MANGESHKAR birthday (83 years)- greatest singer world has ever seen - 6 decades - Mughal-e-azam, mother india... are some of my all time favourites.

Lataji rains songs shree 420 - 1952- nargisji/raj kapoor same umbrella - waves lashing marine drive is very nostalgic.

Mumbais signature is Lataji. Dilip Kumar words - Latas voice is natures miracle.

As the UAC enters inland by sunday evening, things change. chances of thunderstorm activity in maharashtra and western coast will increase thereafter, tuesday 2nd october western coast will have strong thunderstorms occuring, thus fullfilling the desire of many who are wanting such a farewell.the grand finale of the south west monsoon season.

15 mm rains are enough for bangalore, be satisfied with that.

@ EMKAY ,NO AMOUNT OF OCTOBER HEAT CAN HELP THUNSERSTORMS TO POP UP , UNLESS THE HUMIDITY GOES HIGH. THANKS TO THE UAC THAT IS TRAVELLING INLAND ITS ALL HAPPENING BECAUSE OF THE STRONG UAC ON EITHER SIDE OF THE SEAS.THIS WILL BE BENEFICIAL FOR THUINDERSTORMS IN MUMBAI. SPECIALLY THE ONE THAT IS ABOUT TO FORM IN THE ARABIAN SEA. OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE A DRY FAREWELL THIS YEAR.

neelam: It is out of the UAC stage since last 36 hrs, and as a low BB7 now. So, entering again as UAC doubtfull. And BB7 has moved North, as on 5.30am Saturday , centre is located at 17N and 88E.
so i see thunderstorm increasing in Mah as put up on Thursday due to the trough across the state..thanks
