With good west winds and 200 hpa easterlies, Vagaries advances SWM upto Khozhikode in Kerala on 31st May,Tuesday morning..
Overnight rain amounted to 131 mms in Kochi, and thunderstorm continuing as into dawn on Tuesday.Reports of hail too. Rains slowed down by 8 a.m.
Drizzle continues in Thiruvanthapuram into Tuesday morning.
Kozhikode had loght rains, but prevailing winds are NW.
Hail in Kochi sounds quite unusual, could have been in the hills that are close to Kochi. On a different note, the BBC seems to suggest a LOW forming WNW of Mumbai around Friday and then moving North to enter coastal Saurashtra by Saturday. What's your take on this? If this Low indeed forms and then moves inland into Saurashtra it could bring up the Monsoon on the West Coast
@nt. Seems a system will form around 4th/5th June at 15N. Hail is reported from Kochi airport and Willingdon Island.
drizzle at borivali 9.44am
increasingly gusty in South Mumbai. Cloudiness over sea probably indicates advancement of SWM into Goa/South Konkan soon.
