There was a Thundersquall at Juhu - Vile Parle area today morning around 7:00 AM. The weather was very squally for around 30 minutes with heavy rain accompanied by thunder lasting 10-15 minutes. It promptly became bright and sunny post that. Looks like a stray cloud lost it's way :-)
Hi Pradeep, thanks for publishing the list of SWM toppers, if possible you should also publish the YTD rainfall data for these stations in brackets. It will be great to know what Cherapunji has notched up so far in 2012.
NT: Cherrapunji has guaged up 3856 mms this year as on 20th June 2012.
what happened to the low pressure which was supposed to have formed on 18th??
ron: sorry Ron, i am not clear which low you are referring to ??
erm...acc to the imd...a low pressure was supposed to have formed on 18th at Northwest bob...what happened to this one
there was a UAC in northwest bob sometime around 15th-16th if i remember which i remember imd saying will turn into a low & bring rains in central India...now it did rain but was it due to just a UAC??
your wed 13 prediction says a UAC will move in & not a low pressure whereas imd said a low pressure...
my comment from that article:-
Blogger Ron said...
now even the imd is predicting a low pressure in NW BOB...so hopefully good rains in Central India..

Ron: As you mentioned , i estimated a UAC on 13th , with a forecast map, saying it will move in on 18th, and last for a day.Vagaries has never forecasted a low..
Since then, in all blogs, this UAC ,(it did form) was followed and "tracked " regularly on 16th,17th and 18th. As mentioned, it fazed out on 19th. The rains later in the east were mentioned as an east/west wind interaction...Thanks.
