Mumbai City and Suburbs Rain till 8.30 pm Wed. .Scruz 181 mms, vagaries 31 mms, colaba 17 mms..Dahisar 131 mms ,Kandivili 121 mms, Borivali 93 mms, Malad 84 mms, Goregaon 80 mms
and not more than 2 mms rain in rest of Coastal cities !

Reason is very simply explained here...

Oh my God Mumbai SCZ recorded 105 mm rainfall in just 3hrs!! From 8.30am to 11.30am today..

Pressure is high at 1011 hPa. No fish clouds on west coast as not strong west coast trough.. None of the models or IMD predicted such heavy rain today !! So it is once again proved that predicting west coast rain is toughest of all !!

Wow what rains today from 10:00 AM at Juhu, the rain intensity for the first 1 hour was quite strong with steady breeze.

But 105 mms in 3 hours is really something, I thought it might total up to 50 - 75 mms

Downpour in Dadar for last 30 minutes. Intensity of rains is incredible.

Abhijit Modak said...

S'cruz adds another 49mm in last 3hrs. So total is 154mm till 2.30pm today.

So can it make 200 mms by 5.30pm ??

On other hand Colaba recorded just 10mm rainfall till 5.30pm today with max temp of 27c.

We ,people in northern suburbs are always battered with heavy rains maybe some geographical reason but it always leads to flooding that is the bad part for parle west specially
