That's great news Rajeshbhai, meanwhile its raining very heavily in Mumbai and the surrounding suburbs, I am sure, today too the lake areas will clock some good numbers. Very heavy rain with occasional wind gusts in Juhu - Andheri area since 8:00 AM today. I think Mumbai Metropolitan region should also record some heavy numbers today.

Extreme torrential rains over Mumbai Maharashtra. seems by today many places may reach 200-300mm in 24 hrs. 1 spell of rain finishes june quota. Hope all bloggers are happy.

On other side: entire southern India (even coastal Karnataka, Kerala) has become quiet. No rain no clouds. Entire rain belt has shifted to central India, Maha, GUJ, MP, Orissa. Desertification of SE India continues. Will 2016 drought haunt Southern India????

Many residents in Chennai are speaking about evicting city - no water! Strange whole world in global terms are speaking about Chennai/SE India droughts but local Indians are quiet.

Hi Rajesh,

As always it is a pleasure to be back here during the monsoon. And you have got off to a solid start with your forecast.
Wanted to check with you on the monsoon progress to Northern Gujarat now ? How do you see it in the coming days ?

2 days of non stop torrential water falls like rain over Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Thane....
From lowest june this has become highest june!
Hope we have a big pipe to send water from Mumbai to Chennai / Rayalseema (SE state crying for bucket of water!)
why does vortex form only over MAHA/GUJ coast and not over KER/KAR coast? Augumbe /ghat areas of KAR no rain- cauvery state?

Cherrapunji style very extreme rains over Maharashtra:
Taken from kea blog: This must be heaviest june ever.. overflow rivers and dams in 1 spell.

Khandala (Pune) 377 mm
Palghar imd aws 323 mm
Bhimashankar (Pune) 295 mm
Davdi camp (Pune) 273 mm
Patharpunj (Satara) 265 mm
Santacruz imd 235 mm

Vagaries also never forecasted such extreme rains...
Most luck states with assured water supply: Maharashtra, Orissa, MP, Guj, Raj. Maha/Guj/Raj gets rains from AS as well as Bay.
Most risky states with no water: TN, AP, KAR (south east)
