The Weather this weekend...4th, 5th and 6th July...

Rainfall is expected to be Heavy in the regions marked as light green...Moving into MP and parts of Vidharbh by the weekend. 
Rains decrease in Northern Pakistan during the weekend, substantially by Sunday.

City forecasts below Maps...Map on Right alongside same date is Actual Precipitate as per cloud coverage..to compare forecast





Mumbai: Friday with overcast conditions, will see intermittent showers, with rainfall amounting to about 40 -50 mms by Saturday morning.
Saturday will be cloudy,getting warm at 31/32c again. and with a decrease in rainfall amounts as compared to Friday. Some showers at times heavy, will be dispersed during the day. Amount of rain will be around 25 mms average.
Sunday will be partly cloudy with showers in parts of city. Lesser rainfall than last few days. Around 10 mms.
We see outer townships in the East getting more rainfall from Sunday..
Pune: Partly cloudy and warm. Seems Pune will get some relief showers on Sunday...Rain showers in parts on Sunday.

Delhi NCR: Some showers in parts on Saturday and decreasing and hot on Sunday.

Nagpur: This weekend, Saturday or most likely Sunday, thunder showers possible in city. Temperatures will fall with cooler days.

Bangalore: This weekend, afternoon thunder showers possible. Some heavy in some parts of city with more than 20 mms in these regions.

Kolkata: Lesser rains this weekend. The shower may pop up in some parts of city.

Chennai: Warm and sultry. A localised heavy thunderstorm possible on Sunday evening.

Pakistan, with the advancing Monsoon in the North, will get heavy and squally thunder storms in regions of Punjab, which can include, Rawalpindi, Multan , Sarghodha, Lahore. Sindh will be hot and humid SW winds will make it feel more hot and sultry.
Rains decrease by Sunday.

Karachi: Cloudy on Friday with light drizzles in some parts. getting sunny and no rains on Saturday and Sunday.

Islamabad: Partly cloudy with some showers on Friday and Saturday night. Sunday will be clearer and may not get rain.

It seems the rains are finally here.
Yesterday it rained at night in Nagpur. Just 4.2 mm as per newspaper reports.

It is sunny in western suburbs of mumbai too though we has heavy showers in morning but now it is partly cloudy and major clouds are towards east

July 4 rains sputter again in Goa after putting a great show on July 3! Rainfall recorded between 0830 hrs to 1730 hrs at Panjim 5.9 mm and Margao 6 mm.

TN is only state which is almost normal this June..SSET sir why don't you see Gujrat situation or any NW states situation, it is in 80% deficit range

And 40 c is not very strange for those areas.. It is not like Bangalore or mysuru which never saw 40c in lifetime.. TN is doing better compared to other reigon

No rain here in Pune and rest of Maharashtra except kokan. I guess there too it's not as per standard . Pain to see clear sky :( when we can expect significant rain in these areas.

Saturday was expected to be drier than Friday and Sunday even more...so...Saturday did not get even the 25 mms expected..but 10 mms at Colaba...
Thunder showers expected by Tuesday night or Wednesday night..more in the post tonite

Shall give my views on Typhoon also..

Sudden Heavy rain lashes Mumbai ! Mumbai S'cruz recorded 59mm rainfall till 5.30pm today. In that 52mm fallen between 2.30pm to 5.30pm period..

And Colaba recorded 22mm in same period.

Except Mumbai rest Konkan still struggling for rains !!

Some other Konkan region rainfall till 5.30pm today :

Alibaug 11mm
Ratnagiri 4mm
Panji & Mahabaleshwar 2mm
Dahanu 0.8mm

Today morning good rainfall from 3am to 4am in Mumbai western suburb Vile Parle. Not much during the day but evening is cloudy and cool so expect some rains at night.

Is the situation in Pune better.
