Mumbai's rain's does'nt need the direct touch of BB-5 , its entry in peninsula is more then enough for the rain's to gain momentum on west coast along with the strengthning of the west coast trough

Looking at the rain figures what Abhijit has put regarding VASAI 69.0 mm, makes it clear that west coast is facing localised downpours past few days.

Abhijit Modak said...

Sorry for the inconvenience. As per latest update rainfall figure source has flip-flop the rain figure of Uran & Panvel !!

So now Panvel is 26mm & Uran is 42mm ending 8.30am today(09-07-2013).

Badlapur received very heavy rain spells from late afternoon 3.30pm onwards till evening 6.30pm with strong gusty winds and mild thundering also from west dir. So visibility was reduced to below 500 meters at that time.

today Vasai was mostly sunny with hardly any rain.

Same pattern as last 3 years - SE interior still no rain - assuming 50% of peak 3 months monsoon season is complete - these places may not even reach 300-400mm of annual rain. Monsoon axis will remain in North till September and NEM hardly brings any rain. Rain since 01 june 2013

mandya 31mm, chamrajnager 43mm, mysore 68mm, chikannhaki 84mm, chintamani 109mm, Bangalore 150mm,kolar/tumkur (to be given), many places within 150mm.

Regions around mandya, kolar, tumkur are very important for ragi, rice, vegetables cultivation-drought has wipped entire agriculture. Mysore/Bangalore will again suffer.

Infact Marathwada(MAHA arid region) regions have consistently received rains 3-4 times more than these places.

Rayaslseena same fate - Tirupathi 71mm, Kurnool 87mm, cuddapah 56mm, anantpur 100mm..Many places in TN as given by Pradeep single digit rains. Atleast in TN/Rayalseema if NEM is kind - may get rains others may not receive even single drop.

Serious Note -- we all need to warn all the depressions coming from the Bay BB-6 onward's, no matter how many there are in the pipeline. That they have to enter peninsular India so that Bangalore gets bountiful rain's and so our dear friend SSET is saved from getting nervous breakdown.
