Lightning map going blue just South of Mumbai, infact the Doppler clearly shows a small thunder cell moving ENE around the Lonavala area currently. More cells will soon pop up.
By the way my friend reports of a lightning strike on his building yesterday night at Santacruz.
one can see cumulonimbus clouds on the eastern sky from borivali. all the time rising and the "anvil" expanding!!! the low visibility due to haze and smoke does not permit good photos though.

Yesterday our Barge GAL Constructor reports wind gusts of upto 52 knots, 50 miles from Mumbai at Neelam Field.

Guys, the Doppler radar shows a rain cloud just North of Matheran producing an incredible 80 - 88 mms of rain intensity per hour currently (although it may not last for an hour)!! I think this is going to be a storm like yesterday today as well in Mumbai, may start an hour early. Andheri area is already completely overcast at this point.

yup thunder cell have moved over Mumbai,thundering now in dadar with gusty winds. It could start raining around 5pm. May not be as heavy as yesterday but hey who knows... :))

from 4 pm onwards the weather in panvel beacame very violent ,,,the rain rate was very very heavy ,,,i witnessed so many trees falling in my area fro the terrace ,,,,in panvel todays rain will definitely be more than yesterdays @nt since panvel is near matheran i think it wud have received that incredible rain from the thundercell,,@wich the doppler was showing,,,waiting to see panvel rain figure of today!!!
i have not seen this much lightning before!!!
