Lowest (as per information till noon) on Saturday morning is 0.0c at Narnaul, 0,2c at Hindon.
Pune followed vagaries' estimate and dropped to 7.6c on Saturday morning, now lets see if the NW follows the vagaries' "after Saturday" forecast (of rise by 2/3c)

The following readings are reported from IMD's designated stations for recordings... Mercury in Fathepur area of Shekhawati region touched - 2.7c mark breaking a record of 22 years on Monday, 31st December 2012..
On Thursday, 3rd Jan, the low was -0.3c....
On January 10, 1989 and 1997, the region had recorded a temperature of 0c.
On Monday minimum temperature in Fatehpur was -2.7c, Sikar - 0.1c and in Churu the minimum temperature was 0.4c.

31st Dec 2012-- Sibbi was frozen at -5c...and the day was 24.5c, the difference a startling 29.5c between day and night.

The lowest here so far, 1.3 C on 30 december morning. And no rain after 18 september (a total of 3 mms only after that date till now).
Delhi Ncr min temp today is S' jung 2.7c, Palam 3.4c, Hindon 0.6c , Gurgaon 0.7c.
Mumbai min temp for today is Santacruz 12.6c, Colaba 17.1c
Palghar AWS coastal town in Thane district recorded lowest min temp 9.2 c at 7.30am today
Nashik min temp for today is 6.4c. Pune min temp is 12.1c today. So Pune is just 0.5c cooler today than Mumbai !!
A very important question coming in my mind from the past 2-3 days...Rajesh Kapadia sir:Why Punjab is witnessing above normal minimum temperatures...cities like Amritsar,Jalandhar,Ludhiana experiencing above normal temperatures?

Abhijit: AWS minimums are difficult to judge..as it is hourly recording..
Okk. Sir. But atleast giving some idea of particular area. Now take today's example only. Santacruz in Mumbai city area which is also near to coast was having min temp 12.6 C. So Palghar which is 100km north and open area too can easily 2C lesser than Mumbai. So atleast if not 9.2 C but 10.6C quite possible !
It looks that Wednesday and Thursday morning here could be the coldest this winter, temperature-wise.(Your view Rajesh sir?)
Neeraj: Sorry Neeraj, i should have pushed the "light Blue" shade in the vagaries daigram into Nepal also...so, i feel the cold conditions will increase on sunday and Monday in Kathmandu...possibly near 0c..

These have got to be all time record low average temperatures not only for these cities but for the entire plains of North India.
These are the lowest averages i found for 5th Jan 2013.

Jan 5, 2013. Lowest temp so far this winter, here, min 0.7 C ~ max 18.2 C.
1. North India, Maha freezinf cold, South India warm and hot.
2. NEM comes to an end, no rain over TN since 2013. With weak NEM (almost failure)- TN seems to be driest state of India, followed by SE Interior KAR, south interior AP. This phenomenon is seen for consequtive 3rd year. Definitiely proves RAJ and GUJ are no longer dry states but it turns to be more wetter.
3. Interesting phenomenon on "RED RAINS" - most recently seen over Sri Lanka, KERALA. Interesting attributes related algae, comet particles, aliens.

as : Santacruz records 10.4 C , Colaba
records 16.1 C today morning. So lowest
there too for current season.
Yeah..So mine today's morning Badlapur min temp reading of 9.3 C too almost near too accurate..
Today min temp for Delhi is S'Jung 1.9 C, Palam 2.8 C.

Also temp has drop further in Nashik too as it is 4.4 C for today.
January 6 morning. This winter's lowest temp is being reported here, around 0C. The lowest ever recorded temp here is -3.5 C on Jan 11, 1978.
I recorded 8.2 C in Kandivali (W) Mumbai today
