Heavy Rains Lash Bangalore...Vijayanand has given some interesting facts and figures in Comments of previous post....Bangalore city notched up 42 mms, HAL 71 mms in 24 hrs ended 8.30 am Friday.

Rains expected to decrease in Bangalore ...

Heavy rains Lashed Delhi NCR on Friday. Palam recorded 64 mms, Jafarpur 49 mms, Ayanagar 41 mms and Pusa 36 mms in 12 hrs on Friday....heavy thunder shower expected in parts of NCR on Saturday.

Mumbai Scruz recorded 45 mms and Mumbai Colaba 35 mms in 12 hrs on Friday...Saturday will see frequent heavy showers intersparsed in the day.

Expecting heavy showers in Surat on Saturday.

Nilesh: Similarly, for Valsad i expect occasional showers on Saturday and Sunday. Few heavy showers also. On Saturday, Valsad may see around 35-50 mms on Saturday in 24 hrs.

80mm of rainfall in palam in 3 hours between 5.30-8.30am today.24 hours rainfall 144mm highest in last 10 years.

So July crosses 50 year average comfortably with one day to go. Last year June was double the average but July was very low (~350mm vs 800mm long run average)

This year July has seen no 150mm+ days as well. Hopefully August will also be in the 550-600mm range.

Mumbai almost reaches 1500mm mark since july. All Navi Mumbai places in 1600-1700mm range since june.
