Weather forecast from 5th to 9th April...Pre-Monsoon thunderstorms expected in interior Maharashtra!

The typical pre-monsoon thunderstorms due to Line of Wind Discontinuity (LWD) are expected across Maharashtra this week. 

5th - 9th April 👇

Madhya Maharashtra: Thunderstorms likely in Pune, Satara, Kolhapur, Sangli, Solapur, Ahmednagar districts. Nashik region can also get some rain. Friday 7th April could see some strong thunderstorms. 

Konkan: Hot and humid weather. Interior Konkan may touch 37-39C. Thunderstorms from Madhya Maharashtra/Ghats may drift west to give some rain in interior Konkan regions in Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. 

Mumbai region: Mumbai max to rise to 34-35C, min around 23C. Windy in the evenings on 6th and 7th due to strong W/NW winds.

Eastern Outer Townships: Some thundery developments possible in eastern outer Townships and Thane district. More chance during Friday 7th and Saturday 8th April. 

Pune: Max temperature around 35-36C, min around 18C.

City may get some localized light rain. Chance of moderate-heavy thunderstorms in Pune city/suburbs on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th April. Sunday 9th April can also see some thundery development. 

Localized thundery development around Saswad/Katraj hills today 5th and tomorrow 6th April. 

Mahabaleshwar: Warm Day around 31c..Possibility of some thundery rains on 7th and 8th.

Jalgaon: Hot around 38/39c. But chances of moderate rainfall with thunder on 7th & 8th.

Marathwada: Thunderstorms likely in many regions mainly from Friday 6th and Saturday 7th April may see some strong thunderstorms in some districts. 

मराठवाडा: मुख्यतः शुक्रवार 6 आणि शनिवार 7 एप्रिलपासून अनेक भागांमध्ये मेघगर्जनेसह वादळाची शक्यता आहे.

Vidarbha: Hot weather in daytime. Light rain/thunderstorms may occur in some areas adjoining Telangana and Madhya Pradesh. 


West coast from Goa to Kerala can see patchy thunderstorms from 6th to 9th April. 

Light thunderstorms also expected in parts of Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh. 


LWD is present for southern peninsular India since last 2 days.


From this, some moderate-heavy showers were witnessed in Bangalore


and parts of interior Tamil Nadu. This will extend north into Maharashtra.
