Mumbai easily cross 3000mm in few spells!!! World wettest places are know in Maharashtra! Every time this happens South East India becomes drier and drier (like opposite polarities). In fact most recent was 2015 el-nino with early SWM withdrawl - very good North East Monsoon.

Navi Mumbai torrential waterfalls like downpur - flooding roaring rain like cyclonic storms!

Extreme rainfall activity in and around Mumbai currently. Our area in Juhu completely under water, no electricity as well. What's the now-cast Rajeshbhai? When will this intensity reduce?

Atul P Naik said...

Valpoi (Goa) had recorded 4278 mm from June 1 to Aug31 as per the records of IMD released on their website on Aug 31. This was more than Sanguem. Reporting of rain centers in Goa has been very erratic this year, with rainfall from toppers like Valpoi, Sanguem, Ponda, Margao not being reported for days on end.
