Cyclonic rain over Navi Mumbai.
Old timers (south India) may recall 10 years back Cauvery used to fill by June itself indicating bounty of nature and water used to flow to TN also, now entire monsoon it is DRY!
This indicated how climate has changed... entire monsoon is always dominated by MAHA,GUJ,Central India ... next 10 years what happens GOD knows?

Interesting observation, last year rain entered in Maharashtra from vidarbha region and this time it entered from south. The water storage in vidarbha region is half that of last year because rain, it is because rain entered from vidarbha last time which is not the case now.

Agree with sset here. Tamilnadu, SI Karnataka are under grip of drought this year. Monsoon continues to be weak in these places. Rain shortfall in some of the important places are

Place Rains Shortfall Pct shortfall
during monsoon
---------- -------------- ------------ ----------- ---------------
Agumbe 2227 663 22.94
Bangalore 57 58 50.43
Mandya 12 66 84.62
Madikeri 743 430 36.66

Less rains in Madikeri will have adverse impact on Keveri.

IMD Bangalore has forecast that rains will improve after 17-Jul.
