Actually entire SE interior KAR (BANG,mysore,Hindupur, adjoining ananatupur,kolar,chikhannali,chamrajnager,Mysore,devanhalli,tumkur,mandya..) have not received widespread rains as seen in recent GUJ rains. Myself was expecting something like 200mm-300mm in 24hrs - this can happen only if low pressure forms. BANG stands now - 300mm since june, Chikanhalli - 150mm since june. Sept is only month to catch up else it is dry drought even for "ragi" cultivation. "saytrees" organization in BANG waits for sept rains - for tree plantation and revival of sparrows in BANG - totally vanished.

Recent few years SE interior KAR is not receiving any rains during normal monsoon months - june, july, aug - remains dry - sept needs to catch up.

Dear SSET
Bangalore has received around 55 cm rain since June which is slightly above normal.

Where did you get the 30 cm figure?

I have given my number based on these two links.

Others can give you a better link.

I have a similar view on other details you have shared.

I read the blog daily and when i can share some information i do. I hope you don't mind.

SSET: IMD data for the SW period has consistently showed surplus rain this year for SE karnataka. Please specify relevant source for your statements. Hope source isn't any fertile imagination.

Is it raining in Bangalore right now?

actually we need to take an average of BANG HAL(domestic airport)+city+KIAL(international airport) - it comes around 300-350mm. Recent rains are by no means widespread unless southern tip low moves in - most probably it may drift north west. When Modi arrived at BANG to meet ISRO scientist - first question modi asked was is BANG garbage problem solved? Anant yes ISRO rocket scientists/IISC/IT tech should help BANG to restore its environment. Let us see how 2014 NEM currents behave before "climate change" issue can be debated.

SSET,

Not sure how bangalore garbage problem is connected to SE India rains. This forum is meant for climate. Kindly focus on that.
