Posted Saturday 27th:
Forcasted 35c for Sunday, but Mumbai Scruz reaches 35c on Saturday...Colaba was 31.8c and Vagaries 31.5c on Saturday.
Clear skies..
But, Mumbai does not have to loose hopes of the departing thunder shower !!
The LWD expected to move Westwards has delayed its movement...hopefully by Sunday or Monday, it will nudge West into interior Konkan, and bring thunder showers in the Eastern Outer townships and Navi Mumbai.
Upper winds being Easterlies, will drift the thunder cells over parts of Mumbai City...But till then, Sunday would see 35c and Monday 36c..so gear up for some hot weather, possibly cooling down by evening !

Last evening very heavy rain in bangalore. Around 6.30 the rains started. The rains came in from west. I noticed the front coming in at 6:00 pm. Seriously did not expect it to be so brutal.

thanks every one/Abhijit rains are very much required in BANG to recharge ground water and to initiate tree plantation - BBMP and BDA have total ignorance for env. "SayTree" is a NGO - much work is due to support from IT companies like oracle,microsoft,IBM,HCL... lack of water for saplings is biggest challenge.. More rain is required - a low should anchor itself...

Dhubri in Assam records 800mm of rain in 24hrs. Navi-Mumbai non-stop thunderstorms since yesterday night. Vageries(Rajesh sir) had predicted this much before - no other blog had done this.

unlike the last year the monsoon seems to be withdrawing faster and more consistently this year.. i guess the passing thunder showers wont last more than couple of days .. Rajesh your take on this..?

rajesh said...

Parts of Surat got a mild thundershower, 3.2 mms, as per Shitij's report. Mainly a localised cell as SWM withdraws...

Vinod: Last few thunder showers can be heavy, and Scruz can possibly cross 2500 mms...

sset: careful with your figures...Dhubri received 8 cms...and season's total os 1658 mms...

paulodon: SWM withdrawn as shown in vagaries map for 25th/26th and withdrawing from NW Indian states by tomorrow.
Thane and outer towns thunder showers was mentioned in vagaries as early as last Saturday, 20th...and repeated later.
Thunder activity should continue till 2nd at least...i feel as a trough forms in Konkan...
