Thanks for sharing good news on chennai rains thus weekend
Happy to note on weekend rains for chennai
What will be quantum? Almost half of NOV is over. Will this be repetition of 1999 or 2012-2013 ? Just few 2 digits of rain is of no use for farmers, nor for Cauvery river. Entire Cauvery from KAR to TN is dry. This is first time in history when entire southern India- KER,KAR.AP,TN is facing serious drought. all models failed to predict, pre-monsoon failed,SWM failed and now NEM is in verge of failure. Guess time has come for GOVT to serious thing linking perenial rivers like Ganga,Brahmaputra with Cauvery river.
sset: We cannot change nature it has its own script. Thanks for your concern on south India. Alternate surplus and drought are unavoidable it has always been like that only for 1000 years.Inter linking of rivers is not a viable option as it is very expensive, affects river course, water salinity and even monsoon affected in a longer run.

Better solution which is more suited is a concept called Eris(cascading canals) ideal suited for south East India
