Mumbai: After sustained extremely heavy rains since last 4 days, rain intensity to reduce.

Outlook

Mumbai:

Moderate to heavy passing showers with gusty West/Southwest winds likely on 20th and 21st August. 

Rain intensity to reduce from 21st evening. Expecting around 40-70 mm on 20th and around 40 mm on 21st for the city/suburbs. 

Interior Konkan likely to get heavier rains than the coastal regions. 

Ghats (Lonavala, Tamhini, Mahabaleshwar): Heavy showers and very strong winds likely on 20th August, with very cool weather. Intensity reducing from 21st August, but gusty winds and moderate-heavy passing showers will continue. 

Rain and winds reduce from 22nd onwards. 

Pune: Rains reducing compared to last two days. Moderate showers with gusty winds on 20th August, around 15-20 mm expected. Rain reducing from 21st onwards, but windy weather and light/moderate passing showers likely. 

Rain is expected to reduce further from 22nd August, with sunny periods during daytime. 

BB-9 depression has weakened into a Well-marked low pressure area over east MP/Chhattisgarh region. It will travel west across MP over next 1-2 days and weaken. 

Gujarat: Moderate/heavy showers likely in south coastal Gujarat near Navsari/Surat/Valsad regions. 

Baroda can get light to moderate rain/thundershowers. Ahmedabad/Bharuch regions to get moderate rain/thundershowers on 20th, heavier near Bharuch. 

Saurashtra to get moderate-heavy rain. Moderate rains in Kutch, with localized heavy in western parts.
