The country sees wild swings in temperature as it lies exposed to the arctic blasts sweeping to the south from Canada and the warm moist air from Gulf of mexico from down south trying to make its way to the north..

Example : Corpus Christi (Texas) .. located at around 27.5 N ( around the same latitude as Delhi) and on the coast .. THE WILD SWINGS IN ITS TEMP ARE AS BELOW : 

1) 13 JAN 2014:  23  / 07  .. like the normal temp of the plains of North India 
2) 21 JAN 2014:  28  / 08  .. like a cool winter day of Pune /Nashik
3) 22 JAN 2014:  21  / 01  .. like a cool and clear winter day of the plains of North India 

4) 25 JAN 2014:  04  / -01  .. like a winter day of Kashmir valley

5) 26 JAN 2014:  18  / -02  .. like a clear winter day of Shivaliks

6) 01 FEB 2014:  26  / 11  .. like a cool winter day of Gujarat

7) 02 FEB 2014:  26  / 19  .. like a cool winter day of Mumbai (Colaba)

8) 08 FEB 2014:  05  / 01  .. like a cool winter day of Shimla

The temp variations can be more drastic in the northern and central parts of the country ..

Amarillo max temp has increased from -10 c to +18 c in 2 days..
