Nilgiris and Tirunelvei gets a beating as Rains lash TN after a break, ending 8.30 am on 10.12.2014
The trough of low at mean sea level over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast now lies over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka - Tamil Nadu coasts.
The trough in the lower level easterlies from southeast Arabian Sea to southwest Madhya Pradesh now extends from Comorin area to southwest Madhya Pradesh across Lakshadweep, coastal Karnataka and interior Maharashtra.
Pillur dam records over 100 mm and entire nilgiris gets widespread rain. Chennai too got its 1st spell after a long break. As usual the record season for Tirunelveli and Papanasam continues.

the rain in maharashtra is quiet unusual after winter days. on 13th-14th it will rain in konkan and maharashtra. from sunday and monday it can be sunny in mumbai and konkan. this is my forecast.what are your views.especially contributors of vagaries.
As was expected, today some isolated parts in Maharashtra had thunderstorms activity. Some parts of Nashik & Ratnagiri dist had rainfall.
Malegaon AWS recorded 17mm rainfall till 11.30pm & Ratnagiri AWS recorded 3mm till 11.30pm today.
@ abizer. As mentioned previously. Mumbai will be cloudy from afternoon onwards with chances of shower in night into tomorrow. So this will reduce the max temp around 30-31c today & around 29c tomorrow on 13 Dec. From Sunday sky clearing up with min temp likely to drop from current around 22c to 18c from Sunday onward. Nagothane will also have same weather with slighter more chances of rain.
