WIDESPREAD RAIN IN NORTH INDIA !!!

New Year started with wet weather in most parts of North India with almost all places getting light to moderate except Jammu & Kashmir & West-Northwest Punjab in North India. While eastern UP is getting rain from past 48 hours, Haryana, Delhi-NCR & West UP got fairly widespread rain yesterday leading to a sharp fall in day temperatures. Due to the overcast & rainy weather, cold day conditions were observed in many parts of Northwest plains.

Also Uttarakhand recorded moderate to rather heavy rainfall at many places with isolated heavy rain. Few towns also recorded more than 50 mm rain during the past 24 hours while places in Himachal got light to moderate rain. However J&K remained largely dry.

Sir,

What are the reasons for no rainfall or snowfall over jammu and kashmir this winter so far?Are there any chances for any widespread rainfall or snowfall in jammu and kashmir in near future?

With regards

Abid: There was very heavy snowfall in the start of the season. The reason of snowfall is always a system from the West called the western Disturbance.
There was initial WD, but since then, the frequency is Low.

There is a weak system in the first week of Jan.
By the way, where are you from ?
