BB 14 brought rain and cooler days for Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra on 28th



And rainfall in 12 hrs 8.30 am - 8.30 pm :

Colaba : 93 mms

Scruz: 55 mms

Nasik : 50 mms

Dahanu: 87 mms

System now over Gujarat;



Heavy rains now in Gujarat.Low chances that System may strengthen to Depression.

As the system moves away from Maharshtra, we will see rainfall decreasing in Maharashtra from Monday 29th till 3rd October. ( Another Low may be brewing up by then).

Outlook for 29th Monday - 3rd October Friday.

Mumbai > Decreasing rainfall next week. Periods of warm sunshine and few passing showers.

Pune> Next week will be almost dry with light rains in patches. Cooler nights during next week around 19c.

As the Low Pressure moves West from North Maharashtra, we can expect a convergence leading to rain bands formation over North Konkan.

Dry air trying to intrude...but halted by BB-14 low moving in from Bay and monsoon westerlies strengthening from the Arabian Sea

With the system BB 14 moving in westwards, though lagging in intensity, Vagaries will maintain its Maharashtra  wet weekend outlook.



Vagaries' Orange Alert for Mumbai/Pune for Sunday 28th/Monday 30th.

Mumbai,: After a few days, Mumbai will get rains commencing from Saturday 27th.  Heavy rains on Sunday 28th and Monday 29th. Cumulative on Sunday/Monday could be between 100 - 150 mms. Very heavy falls in some areas.

 Heavy rain expected in Thane, Raigad and Palghar districts

Pune: Clear skies going with rains on Saturday 27th. Sunday 28th and Monday29th will be quite heavy. Cool days.

{Will get good rains on 28th/29th...but all areas may not get uniform...North Konkan from Raigad to Palghar belt including Mumbai/Thane have good chance of rain...but live tracking being done}

Mumbai/Pune Monsoon will persist till least 8th October or beyond.

South West Monsoon will withdraw from Rajasthan, Punjab, J&K, H.P, Western Haryana and Kutch by 24th...

Heavy Rains from BB 14 Low Pressure:

In Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada from 27th to 30th. Monsoon will persist till 5th October at least.

Mumbai: 24th/25th/26th: Occasional showers with average rainfall between 25-40 mms /day.

27th/28th/29th: torrential and heavy thunderstorms and gusty winds. Rainfall between 150-200 mms cumulative.

Pune: 24/25/26: Few showers and scattered rains. 27th/28th heavy thundershowers. 

Cumulative 3 day rains may exceed 100 mms.

Sambhajinagar: Heavy thundershowers on 26th/27th/28th with gusty winds. 

Farmers need to protect their standing crops from gusty winds and flooded fields due to saturated soils

South West Monsoon Withdrawal from West Rajasthan maintained.




We expect further withdrawal to   👉 cover extreme West Punjab by 24th.

With the BB-14 advancing into Eastern parts, Rains are expected to occur into Delhi NCR and West U.P.

So,Vagaries holds back further withdrawal till this weekend.

The current scenario and development for next 6 days shows the Low BB 14 strengthening and moving inland from the Bay.

Rains and thundershowers an be expected 0n 23rd/24th into Odisha, East M.P. And Chattisgarh. 

Long term Forecast for Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and South Gujrat Region: 

Heavy thundershowers to occur in these regions from 27th weekend till 30th September.

Mumbai, Pune, Sambhajinagar, Surat and Bharuch to possibly get a very wet weekend. Estimates for the weekend cumulative rainfall ; Mumbai 200-250 mms, Pune 100 mms, Surat 100-150 mms.

Marathwada farmers to take full precautions to ( tall) standing crops against heavy rains and gusty winds on the weekend 26th to 29th.

Mumbai: 15th - 18th September, Rain possibilities on Monday. From Tuesday, City will get the occasional showers, with short heavy spells in some areas. Rain amounts will be nominal at around 20 - 35 mms per day. 

Pune: 15th - 18 th September :Partly Cloudy with some rain showers in areas of city. Rainfall decreasing from Tuesday. Cooler nights at around 20c on Wednesday/Thursday.

Sambhajinagar: Moderate Rain showers to continue...till weekend.

Jalgaon: Mostly cloudy and humid. Few passing showers of around 7-10 mms/day.

The Monsoon Axis shifting South, with another Low active in the East( See image below), Interior Maharashtra ( Specially South Madhya Maharashtra and Western Ghats ), Konkan and North Interior Karnatak will get enhanced rainfall from 13th. 

Mumbai: Rainfall increasing from 14th September. Heavy showers on 14th and 15th, with thunder. Vagaries estimates rainfall in excess of 100-130 mms on 15th. 

Pune: Thundershowers expected on 13th and 14th...more likely in the evening. Heavy showers on 14th in the evening.

Sambhajinagar: Rainfall with thunder expected to increase from 13th till 17th.

Gujarat : Rains expected from 14th specially in East Gujarat region. Good showers expected in Bharuch, Surat and Valsad on Sunday 14th and Monday 15th.

Depression Over North Gujarat & Adjoining Southwest Rajasthan Today 7th September At 05.30 am IST

ઉત્તર ગુજરાત અને જોડાયેલા દક્ષિણ-પશ્ચિમ રાજસ્થાન પર ડિપ્રેશન
આ ડિપ્રેશન આગામી 2 દિવસમાં પશ્ચિમ-દક્ષિણપશ્ચિમ તરફ ગતિ કરવાની શક્યતા છે.


Now, as things  stand, After the severe pouring by Depression BB 12 over Gujarat, we see the system moving West/South-West and gradually fizzling out.  stand, there will be a start to the build up of a ridge around the west Rajasthan area and adjoining Pakistan. along with, we also see the Easterly Jet streams have started shifting Northwards. 

The conclusion of these developments would mean the commencement of the South West Monsoon withdrawal from West Rajasthan by 11th September. 

Outlook for 8th September - 11th September; 

1. Monsoon withdrawal could commence in West Rajasthan from 11th.Monsoon persisting in rest of the country.

2. Rainfall decreasing in Konkan, Interior Maharashtra, Peninsula and NW India.
