VAGARIES IS TOO MUCH INCLINED ON WEATHER OVER MUMBAI AND WEST COAST....SHOULD CHANGE THE WEB SITE NAME TO VAGARIES OF INDIAN WEST COAST WEATHER

@ Mr Anonymous, your comment is testimony that success attracts jealousy. Its purely Rajesh's choice to focus on what he wants to write about. Btw if you had followed his blog closely, you would have known the comprehensive nature of the blog.

@anonymous ... i guess your point of view is totally based on false claims ... rajesh not only focuses on whole of india but also on neighbouring pakistan particularly sindh for which i am very thankful to rajesh and wish him good luck for the future ... thnx alot rajesh you simplified the way we see weather forecast nowadays :)

SWM hits Mumbai. Now official at Indian Met website

Thanks @Rajesh for the excellent prediction!!

Entire Mumbai/Navi Mumbai has very scenaric spots - 20 lakes, plenty of cascading waterfalls. Some of the Navi-Mubai->Pandav Kada, central park-ISCON TEMPLE (it is just heaven), of course Mumbai-Pune highway just transforms into scotland-swizerland.

Satellite picture shows intense mass clouds over westcoast and eastcoat. However dense over Mumbai-is very prominent. Rajesh do you expect falls between 200mm-400mm over Mumbai? Satellite picture is perfect monsoon image (ofcourse leave apart usual south-interior india - always problem)

anonymous: You may be correct to some extent, that vagaries unknowingly tends to drift more towards the west coast meteorology. But, weather forecasting is not only done with computers and images. It requires a lot of visual observations, something i am used to for the last 40 years, and being based in Mumbai, a slight observation is recorded in Vagaries.
Secondly, i like to respond and forecast weather when i get spontantaeous response from readers. Feedback on local weather reported back to me in Vagaries helps and encourages me to give a weather report for that region or place. I love corresponding with my readers. Without a "send back" it is impossible to gather and forecast weather information for any place.
BTW, where are you from ?

Rajesh said...

thanks Ananth: would love to put up a daily report, but let me tell you, even writing a few lines takes a lot of time, of course i love doing it, since i have to be doubly sure when i publish an article.
My readers have imposed total faith in my reports, so i have to maintain it.
Ron: getting the readings is a tough job, from various different contacts and personal sources. Tough, as you may not find the concerned person, or the information doesn't come to you. You have to chase it.-:))
anonymous from Pakistan: thanks, will keep updating your region as monsoon nears sindh.

Hi Rajesh,
I am from Hyderabad. I am following monsoon from 15 years, during my school days. I never came across any forecast as precise as yours. Indeed great job and carry good work.

You predicted yesterday that, Hyderabad may get good rains during next 2-3 days. And today its raining heavily from 3 hrs.

I observed one thing. Whenever I see good rains in June, after Jul, Aug tends to be more drier side in that . This observation in the region around Hyderabad. Have you ever observed anything of this sort ?

I AM PLEASED THAT YOU HAVE ENDORSED MY VIEWS PARTLY. I FOLLOW YOUR BLOG ON A DAILY BASIS AND REALLY WISHED SUCH IN DEPT STUDY OF EAST COAST AS YOU HAVE BEEN DOING FOR WEST COAST. NO DOUBT THERE ARE FEW PEOPLE FROM EAST COAST WHO WRITE ABOUT THEIR OBSERVATIONS, AND WHICH HAS PROBABLY CAUSED LESS INTERPRETATION OF WEATHER OVER EASTERN SIDE OF INDIA.I AM FROM CALCUTTA AND WOULD PUT UP WHATEVER OBSERVATIONS I GET FROM EASTERN SIDE WHICH WILL HELP YOU EXTEND YOUR CORRECT PREDICTIONS FOR THIS SIDE AS WELL. BEST OF LUCKS.

Was it Mansoon or Premonsoon. According to you the Monsoon is yet to reach Vid.
