Agumbe observatory didn't report on 26th and 27th of June, for the same period Agumbe private obsy had recieved 136 and 70 mm each day respectively. Which means there would be slight change in overall amount of Agumbe's rainfall.

IMD has not taken care of this.

south europe suffers from drought. Water cut in Italy - Rome. I have observed whenever this kind of stuff happens over europe - GUJ/RAJ always have excess rains. Any relation not sure.

all sparrows, small colorful birds are busy chatting among green forest hills of navi mumbai- guess they are glad that cold heavy rain has taken break - they also need to do some busy shopping!

Has anybody verified the rain gauges in these stations are in working condition or just displaying inflated readings?

Usually for generating district wise rainfall distribution the hilly regions rainfall data of the district is NOT usually considered or omitted. That why many heavy rainfall regions in Karnataka like Kulikal etc or not inducted in the fold. But these heavy rainfall regions are vital catchment area of major rivers.

Clear weather and no rain in Mumbai. Last night light drizzle in forego an for 3 minutes.

Santa Cruz 138 cms for the year. Still 104 short. Feel from Aug 15 it would pick up again.

Quoting from previous blog by a sensible blogger :sset Long intense break monsoon is required? Most unfortunate that you think this way. In your fixation with Konkan and Gujarat, you have conveniently forgotten about lack of rains / droughts in interior Maharashtra (Marathwada, Vidarbha etc.). I've never heard a word from you about these areas and the water scarcity there.

But we should no longer be surprised. It has been more than 5 years since you've spoken nothing but unadulterated lies as part of your propaganda towards an ulterior agenda. As you go about it, would still advise you to be sensitive to others / other areas.

In earlier Monsoon Report upto 15th July Thalai Cauvery had 2100mm and Agum be 2800mm. But even Thalai Cauvery shows same 2100mm. The reporting of rainfall data in DI KARNATAKA is doubtful

sset has now linked droughts not just in South India but also in Europe to excess rainfall in Gujarat and Rajasthan. The day is not far when drought anywhere in the world will be because of excess rains in Western India as per sset. He really does have a problem with West India getting any rainfall whatsoever. Think he will be happy only when drought strikes here. There is no other explanation of his baseless commentary.

Sudden heavy rains have started in naigaon ....

@ Tejaswini ..please read the table carefully

@ Kaushik .. These stations span a length of 400 kms north to south ..Doubtful stations are not included ( eg.Harnai on the coast )..Maharastra ghats ( Sahyadri) are known for high rainfall during swm ..Refer the vagaries extreme blog for more details

Abhijit Modak said...

@ Avtansh: Yes same was commented by me too.. He is completely jealous on Konkan rain in spite of staying there. Just curse and curse no other agenda he has. If SI Kar not getting then no one should get is his theory. And all entertaining him with replies so gets more energy to bluff. Now Europe link to Guj/Raj rain. Just to remain in news and get highlighted so all new tricks used

Rohit Aroskar said...

When southern ghats do well ..then no doubts are raised about inflated readings ;)

Avtansh said...

@Abhijit: Yes, agree. Think best would be to ignore him completely. Just that sometimes can't help but clarify for new readers of the blog - Do not want them to believe his lied figures.
