Thank you Rajesh for your feedback to my response. But since you ask at the end whether we get your point. Just to clarify as you would have seen from my comment I was already on your side ! I am all for full freedom of speech and writing at all times, even though some people get repititively boring at times. I have one request though. Everyone here has the courage to put his name behind the comment except some strange people. Can you atleast make it mandatory that people put their name ? Hope this is a basic norm which people can adhere to ?

Arjun I know you are a young boy probably. One small guidance as a friendly elder. Rajesh has repeatedly mentioned many times that he does not give long range forecast. So request you to please do not ask him always what is the forecast beyond what he has forecasted. He himself updates as and when he knows something. So even though all of us including me are very keen to know what lies ahead during the monsoon, at the same time we need to be patient. Rajesh and his team are doing a great job in sharing all possible inormation. So let us only put questions to them which are truly relevant enough for them to be able to answer. As i learn from other sites, you seem to be quite young so please take this as just an advice. But really good to see you developing such an interest in weather at a young age. Keep learning from Rajesh and Vagaries team. Great weather education.

Since the monsoon began this is the best(maximum spread of blues/greens) picture so far.
http://www.imdpune.gov.in/Seasons/Pre_Monsoon/seasonal-rain.jpg

The reds are all regions with high rainfall and also their monsoon extends beyond September and they get rain is May as well which is not accounted for here.

That is what makes this monsoon great so far. Excess rain and the distribution is not bad either.

Hello Sir,

I am happy that it is raining good in northern parts.

But I am from Tamilnadu, really disappointed about deficit in catchment areas of Bhavani and Cauvery. As As a son of farmer eagerly waiting for water from Bhavani.

So when can we expect good wet spell in the catchment areas? Normal date of water release is tomorrow. Not sure if we can start cultivate. It can be useful if u share your views. My appreciations for this blog. I am following it for more than four years.

Rajesh sir,i had visited mumbai today morning,it was mainly sunny ,very humid weather, feeling sultry and uncomfortable.....in contrast pen, roha, nagothane do not experience such sultry weather. Why?

Rajesh said...

abizer: Roha etc are slightly inland and away from direct sea. Even 10 kms inand makes a different, and can turn to low humidity.

Prabhakaran: If you are asking for Tamil Nadu region, then this is definitely not the peak season . TN falls in rain shadow areas. But, sometimes we can get some heavy showers in TN from the SW Monsoon when a stronger current from off shore conditions on west coast improve.
In catchment areas of Cauvery and Bhavani, the rains are less, and now as i had mentioned there is a further slowing in Peninsula. Hoping for some improvement in last week of this month.
