Durriya...Pre monsoon rains and thunder showers can start from 3rd/4th June...and Monsoon may set in around 12th/13th June
I thought sw monsoon arabian sea branch is delayed by 5 to 6 days ur view on that rajesh sir.because there no strong system utill first week of june near maldives.
Moshin: Monsoon advances into Maldives...now you are confused with the 2 branches...Maldives and Sri Lanka Monsoon arrival is from around 5N, that is the initial winds that carry the Bay branch...so, technically, they are the from the bay branch winds...and the SW winds of the west coast of India are another diversion of the arabian sea winds...thats why it takes 5 days for monsoon the arrive at kerala after sri Lanka (someone had asked me that few days ago )..
My views are expressed in blog...arrival dates on estimate as given earlier (as yet)...please be free to ask if in doubt.
when it will start to down temp and when seasonal southern gusty winds start here in pakistan/ Sindh
Sir please give forecast for 30th and 31st May for mumbai as soon as possible
Did DU AWS recorded yesterday 47.9℃ ?
Anoop: DU seems to show error in max temp in AWS
Hrishikesh: 30th and 31st for Mumbai: Partly cloudy...hot at 35c and warm night...
shoukat: Sindh will have to wait for Monsoon winds ...which may come in late June.

Latest update from Australian bureau of meteorology
El Niño strengthens
The El Niño in the tropical Pacific continues to strengthen. International climate models surveyed by the Bureau indicate sea surface temperatures will remain well above El Niño thresholds at least into the southern hemisphere spring.
Oceanic and atmospheric indictors show a clear El Niño signal. Sea surface temperatures in the tropical Pacific Ocean have exceeded El Niño thresholds for nearly two months, supported by warmer-than-average waters below the surface. Trade winds have remained consistently weaker than average since the start of the year, cloudiness at the Date Line has increased, and the 90-day average Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) is now below –10.
El Niño is often associated with below-average winter and spring rainfall over eastern Australia, and above-average daytime temperatures over the southern half of the country. However, the strength of El Niño doesn't directly relate to the strength of its effects on Australia's climate.
The Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) is currently neutral, with the majority of the Indian Ocean being warmer that average. Of the five international models that monitor the IOD, three suggest a positive IOD event is likely later in 2015. A positive IOD is typically associated with reduced winter and spring rainfall over parts of southern and central Australia.
Sw monsoon arabian sea branch r getting worst day by day.even maledives and srilanka r not getting sufficent rainfall.our imd said monsoon reach kerela coast on may 30th may but i think only weak monsoon reach 6th june. Simillier kind of suituation like year 2009 ur view on that trajesh sir.
Sir,what is the status of monsoon, has it reached srilanka!!
Megh: Vagaries' Monsoon status is updated in the Monsoon Progress Chart on the right of the blog, next to the articles.
Moshin:Vagaries has mentioned Monsoon reaching Kerala on 3rd/4th in its previous articles and MWs...same situation as yet.
