Saturday Night:

As expected, BB-13 is fizzling out off the AP coast. Will bring rains as mentioned to Coastal AP regions between Prakasam and Nellore.
( we can recall, Vagaries had estimated the System never to strengthen, but dissipate over the sea. It was expected to move North and then NE and dissipate in the Central Bay region. contrary to that, it moved W/NW).

BB-14 is moving into the Andaman Sea on 10th...I see something for TN in this...expecting the system to move towards TN and reach as a depression...depressions are preferable for good rainfall !!

A Line of Wind Discontinuity may form in the interior of the Konkan and Karnataka coast...and get a Low embedded in the LWD. Low may be in the Southern Mah/Northern Interior Karnataka region, forming on the 11th of November.

On 11th and 12th November, Showers likely in Interior Karnataka and Interior Mah regions of Madhya Mah, Marathwada, Vidharbha and Interior Konkan. Thundery developments in Konkan and Madhya Mah.  Details on Sunday Night.

Chennai likely to get light showers on Saturday evening and Sunday 9th...rise in night temperatures to 24/25c..

BB-14 enters the Andaman Sea on the 9th...and starts intensifying immediately.

Mumbai Temperature performace in 2014...October Hotter than May !!..See Rohit's Page for Chart

Tuesday Night: (Numbering error of Systems from Bay corrected...Erroneously numbered and Vagaries regrets the error)

BB-13, a Low, has formed in the Bay located at 12N and 88.5E, at estimated at 1006 mb. The outer isobars are circling the Low, and hence winds at sea level and 850 mb levels are circular in a uniform curvature. The Eastern and Western Quadrant winds are stronger (as isobars are closer), and are whipping up clouds on either side of the estimated centre.

BB-13 may deepen to a Well Marked Low by tomorrow ( Wednesday 5th), at 1004 mb and possibly a depression by Thursday at 1000/1002 mb. At this stage, it will be guided buy the lower winds and possibly the 700 mb level wind situation (shear/vorticity etc). Track could be Northwards initially and then NE.
This would would be detrimental for the Southern Indian region, and suck away most of the moisture from along the TN and AP coasts.

Chennai would be devoid of rains next 2/3 days with day temperatures around 34c.

BB-14 makes an entry into the Bay at 95E and 10N by 9th/10th November...

Western Disturbance N-2 is approaching the Sub Continent....and is expected over the North Pakistan regions by the 7th .
It would be covering most Pakistan regions North of the Punjab. On the 8th, would slide into India as a cold front, and would bring precipitation with thunder in the Northern Kashmir and HP regions.
Parts of Punjab and Haryana would get thunder showers.
Delhi NCR would not get rains. Temperatures may drop below 15c after 9th November.

Post 8th November:

Seeing the clear skies and colder air in the rear of the WD, we can expect a slight drop in day and night temperatures in the plains of NW India, With NW winds in the region, from 8th November, drop of 2/3c in the night temperatures in Punjab, Rajasthan, MP, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Places in Punjab may drop to 10c .

Mumbai : Relief after 9th November...Warm at 34/35c next few days. Nights around 21c, but may fall to 20c on 9th.
Pune also warm at 31/32c and nights dropping to 12/14c by 9th.

LIFE CYCLE VIDEO OF TROPICAL CYCLONE "NILOFAR"

Sunday, November 02, 2014

Monday, 3rd November...Mumbai Santa Cruz shoots up to a high of 37.0c...almost near the all time high record for November which is 37.4c recorded on 4th November 1979. Colaba saw a high of 35.4c on Monday.
Hottest in India today was Bhuj at 38.0c. In Pakistan Nawabshah was also hottest at 38.0c.

Sunday (2nd November) Post ...N1 and BB-20....

The new Low in the Bay, BB-20, scheduled to form on 3rd November as mentioned in Vagaries and likely around the same predicted spot..West of The Andaman Islands.
Initially at 1008 mb, BB-20 will deepen very slowly, as it is just South of the Sub Tropical Ridge. The current STR is strong, and runs East-West upto the Arabian Peninsula.

Initially for the next 3 days, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, it could be said that the BB-20 may not go below 1005 mb, hence even the system may not reach above a height upto 700 mb wind levels. Hence may just "loiter" around the Southern Bay for a few days. As the STR gets to dominate the region, we may see BB-20 trying to "scramble" towards the North after Thursday.
Since, the system is far from the coast, we may see a decrease in rainfall in TN . Rains may be scattered in coastal TN and Southern Kerala.

City Forecasts for Monday 3rd/Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th:
Meanwhile, Chennai will may get a thunder shower on Sunday night or Monday early..decrease after Monday evening.
Bangalore: Partly cloudy with temperatures in the 28-18c range.

Kolkata: Almost clear...with crisp N/NW winds by evening..Nights going down a bit to 19/20c.....

Mumbai will be sunny and warm...days around 35/36c and nights a shade better  at 21c....Sunday's Maximum was 35c.
Pune: Days will be around 31/32c. Nights will be nippy at 15/16c.

N-1, restricted to the upper levels, will not precipitate much in the Indian plains. On Monday, rain/snow will be precipitating in the Northern Hills of the Sub Continent, and Northern Pak Punjab.
Islamabad can get showers and a cool day on Monday and Tuesday.
But, the WD moves away by Wednesday, without precipitating in the Indian Plains. Will anticipate N-2 on the 9th.:-)

Delhi NCR will see hazy sunshine. Foggy on 4th Night/5th morning.
