Good start to NEM.

It is NEM - rains required for TN/SAP - parched south east India.
But AS is host low - extreme rains for MAHA/Mumbai/GUJ - what is happening??

Next culprit will be WD - this may take bay system to NE India - again problem for SE India.

Chennai has received 1st 3 digit rainfall of the season.

Saurabh : to tide away 5 years of drought in SE India - single spell of 100mm will never suffice. Requires consistent heavy rains for months. Chennai few months back - zero day- all lakes dry, IT companies close. SE India depends 80% on fragile NEM.
Recent years erstwhile dry states like RAJ/GUJ are comfortably receiving 300-500mm of rains multiple times during SWM. NEM season is very small and is impacted by factors like WD, AS lows. Hardly 1 day NEM started AS system interferes in between. Let us see if things improve.

Navi Mumbai heavy rains -- looks like 2017 Ockhi cyclone! Assured dump of 100mm ++. Look like rains will continue till end of year - Arabian sea seems to be in agitated state - +IOD ?? Lows keeo moving towards MAHA/GUJ.

Since July India has been receiving surplus rains. This trend looks all set to continue.
Thats good news for NEM.

Most places cant take 300-500 cm rain in 24 hours. I would not wish for that.
